Titanium Grade 5 bar is known as the "workhorse" of titanium alloys and is the most commonly used of all titanium alloys. It accounts for 50% of the total global titanium usage. Its usability lies in its many benefits. Grade 5 titanium can be heat treated to increase its strength. It can be used for welded structures at service temperatures up to 600°F. High strength, light weight, useful formability and high corrosion resistance make this alloy the most popular grade on the market.

UNS R56400 Titanium Hex Rods are robust due to their geometry and can be used in structural applications. Sometimes weight and shape are important in an application, and titanium grade 5 square bars can also be used for strength reasons. Applications include heat exchangers, power plants, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, chemical processing industries, aerospace, medical, offshore oil drilling applications, and more. There are also special ends, such as titanium ASTM B348 grade 5 threaded rods, whose threaded ends can be joined with other threaded fittings and flanges. It is also commonly used in blades, discs, rings, aerospace, automotive parts, fasteners, pressure vessels, housings, hubs and forgings.
