TA15 titanium alloy (national standard grade, nominal composition Ti-6.5Al-2Zr-1Mo-1V) is a near-alpha type high-temperature titanium alloy independently developed in China, corresponding to the Russian grade BT20. It is specifically designed for long-term high-temperature service environments below 500℃ and is a key structural material in the aerospace field.
I. Core Performance Characteristics

Density: 4.45 ~ 4.5 g/cm³ (significantly lightweight advantage)
Long-term operating temperature: 500℃ (up to 550℃)
Instantaneous temperature resistance: Up to 650℃~800℃
Typical mechanical properties:
Room temperature tensile strength: 900 ~ 1100 MPa
500℃ high-temperature strength: ≥ 620 MPa (far superior to TC4)
Main advantages:
Excellent heat resistance and creep resistance: High strength retention at high temperatures, stable long-term service.
Good weldability: Low weld crack sensitivity; joint strength can reach over 85% of the base metal.
Excellent corrosion resistance: Resistant to corrosion from seawater, chloride ions, H₂S/CO₂, and other media.
High specific strength: Low density, high strength, significant weight reduction (approximately 40% lighter than steel). II. Main Applications
1. Aerospace (Core Application)
Aero-engines: High-pressure compressor blades, discs, drums, intermediate casings, and other high-temperature components (operating temperature 450-500℃).
Aircraft structural components: Wing spars, load-bearing frames, fuselage panels, tail fins, high-temperature ducts, thermal insulation supports, etc.
Aerospace equipment: Rocket fuel tanks, engine nozzle expansion sections, satellite propulsion system piping, etc.
