Pure nickel crucibles are containers made from high-purity nickel (Ni≥99.5%) through precision machining. They are resistant to high temperatures and strong alkali corrosion and are widely used in chemical analysis, material melting, and high-temperature experimental scenarios.
I. Materials and Grades
Mainstream Materials: Ni200 (UNS N02200), Ni201 (UNS N02201) (US Standard)
Ni200: Ordinary pure nickel, carbon content ≤0.15%
Ni201: Low-carbon pure nickel (C≤0.02%), better high-temperature stability
Purity Grades: 99.5% (industrial grade), 99.9%, 99.95%, 99.99% (high-purity analytical grade)
Corresponding National Standards: Ni200≈N6; Ni201≈N4

II. Core Performance
Melting Point: 1455℃
Recommended Operating Temperature: ≤700℃ (long-term); short-term up to 800℃
Corrosion Resistance: Extremely strong resistance to alkalis (NaOH, Na₂O₂, Na₂CO₃, etc.), resistant to neutral/alkaline corrosion. Weak reducing atmosphere
Disadvantages: Not resistant to strong acids, oxidizing media, sulfur-containing substances, and molten metal salts
Physical properties: High thermal conductivity, good ductility, moderate strength, easy to process and shape
III. Main applications
Alkaline fusion: Laboratory use of NaOH, Na₂O₂ molten minerals, slag, clay, and refractory materials
High-temperature experiments: ignition, sintering, and melting reactions in alkaline environments
Precious metal processing: Analysis and smelting of gold and platinum group metals
Industrial applications: High-temperature alkaline process containers in chemical, building materials, and rare earth metallurgy

IV. Specifications (common)
Volume: 20ml, 30ml, 50ml, 100ml, 150ml, 200ml
Wall thickness: 0.5–1.2mm (standard)
Structure: With lid, flat bottom/curved bottom, straight wall/tall type
V. Contraindications
❌ Do not use acidic fluxes (such as KHSO₄, Na₂S₂O₇)
❌ Do not allow contact with sulfur, phosphorus, arsenic, or sulfur-containing compounds.
❌ Do not melt metal salts such as Al, Zn, Pb, Sn, and Hg (this will cause the crucible to become brittle).
❌ Do not use at high temperatures for extended periods in a strongly oxidizing atmosphere.
VI. Use and Maintenance
New Crucible Pretreatment: Heat in a muffle furnace at 700℃ for several minutes to form a dense oxide film (blue-purple/grayish-black).
Cleaning: Boil in dilute hydrochloric acid → wash with water → dry.
Temperature Control: ≤700℃, avoid sudden cooling and heating.
