Applications: Melting of strong alkalis (Na₂O₂/NaOH), digestion of strong acids other than HF, smelting of precious metals/rare earth elements, vacuum high-temperature experiments
Incompatible Materials: Hydrofluoric acid (HF), fluorides, high-temperature concentrated oxidizing acids
