Product description

705 Zirconium Alloy Plate is alloyed with 2.0% to 3.0% niobium. Compared to Zr702, Zr705 has similar corrosion resistance but much higher strength. Zr705 has higher formability than Zr702 because of its high tensile strength and is easier to press-form during processing.

705 Zirconium Alloy Plate has good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties to acids, alkalis and salts, especially in high temperature and high pressure water and steam. Most prominently, a nascent oxide protective layer grows before the lift-off layer. Zr705 has no obvious corrosion turning point.

When corrosive conditions permit, Zr705 is more economical to use as the shell of the pressure vessel structure, because its higher strength enables thinner wall thickness designs, which can greatly reduce material consumption.
