Product Description

Zirconium crucibles have a high melting point of 1855°C (3371°F) and have excellent corrosion resistance to alkalis, acids, brines and other reagents (except hot concentrated acids). Due to their similar thermochemical properties, zirconium crucibles are often used as a cost-effective alternative to traditional platinum labware. Zirconium crucibles are widely used in high temperature applications such as melting of metals and salts. It is ideal for highly corrosive fusion processes (lithium and sodium salt fusion) in analytical chemistry and chemical processing.

Product use temperature

Recommended temperature for 10ml zirconium labware: 500-600°C. Heating at higher temperatures may damage the crucible and shorten its service life, use under inert gas is recommended. Use in air will cause oxidation and shorten the life of the crucible.

Precautions for use

Do not exceed 900 °C for fusion applications in 10ml zirconium labware, a black oxide layer will form when the crucible is used in air. If necessary, clean the crucible with fine zircon sand.
