Titanium GR 12 flanges are typically used in adverse corrosive environments where chemical degradation can occur. These flanges offer excellent mechanical and physical properties combined with corrosion resistance in mild environments. These flanges are especially suitable for reducing environments such as chlorine, sodium chloride and other solutions. They are resistant to many chemical reducing environments such as hydrotrope, chromic, phosphoric, formic and other strong acids.

Titanium GR 12 flanges can be easily welded by all conventional welding processes. Generally, heat treatment is not considered to maintain strength, but cold working processes are used to avoid embrittlement. These flanges can be equipped with conventional machines with low cutting speeds, depths of cut and feeds. It is essentially immune to pitting, crevice and stress corrosion cracking. The titanium GR 12 flange also provides excellent service at hoist temperatures without any elongation.

These titanium GR 12 flanges have excellent impact strength and high fracture toughness. It has a low modulus of elasticity and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. It has a high melting point making it non-magnetic. It has high inherent impact resistance and a high ballistic to density ratio. Additionally, titanium grades are non-allergenic, non-toxic and biocompatible alloys ideal for food processing plants and medical applications.
