Nickel Spooled Wire is available in purities from 99% (2N) to 99.99% (4N) in annealed, stress-relieved, as-drawn, and hard tempers, combining the metal’s good corrosion resistance, magnetic properties, and mechanical versatility in a continuous coil format suited to automated processing and high-volume component manufacture. Nickel is ferromagnetic below its Curie temperature of 358 °C — the highest Curie point of any commercially pure metallic element — and its face-centered cubic structure gives it good ductility and cold-drawing performance across the full purity range. In the annealed and stress-relieved conditions it is well suited to wound resistance heating elements, filter mesh, and electroformed components; as-drawn and hard tempers provide the spring-back and mechanical stiffness needed for precision coil springs, cathode heaters in vacuum tubes, and shaped electrode wire. Its good resistance to corrosion by caustic alkalis makes it a reliable material for chemical processing components in alkaline environments, and its electrochemical stability supports use in battery electrode fabrication and electroplating anodes. The broad purity range means it spans applications from general industrial fabrication across grades through to high-purity research substrates, electrochemical reference components, and magnetism studies where trace impurity levels must be controlled.
